Welcoming the Christmas season, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas Psychological Society Department (DPS) opened their first-ever online merchandise shop on Facebook and Shopee called, “DPS: Dito Po Sari-sari, Paskong Sikolohiya”.
According to the executive director of DPS, Eishelle Marquez, the project aims to raise necessary funds to support the organization and its future endeavors in serving Psychology students.
Also, Jim Negapatan, the organization’s director of finance and the project head of the event, addressed the importance of having enough budget and making the finance team active while also establishing their branding through the Psychology Merch.
Both Marquez and Negapatan flaunt their organization’s plan to fulfill their mission of giving back to the community through this fundraising event.
“We are passionate about this because our beneficiary Cavite Center for Mental Health (CCMH) is a government hospital providing a wide range of mental health services, including prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. They also offer counseling services regarding depression and substance abuse,” Marquez stated.
In addition, Negapatan said that the event strives to demonstrate the Filipino culture of giving in light of celebrating the Christmas season.
“We named it Paskong Sikolohiya because as (Psychology) majors, we want to celebrate the Christmas season by giving back to our community and continuously serve in our field by emphasizing the matter of mental health,” he added.
Products such as mugs, tote bags, and shirts with Psychology-related designs are available on their official Facebook page,”DLSU-D Psychological Society”, and Shopee account,“DPS: Dito Po Sari-sari”.
The fundraising commenced from Dec. 3 to 4 and resumed recently from Dec. 12 to 17.
