Cavite will be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) starting on Saturday, May 16, after the two-month enforcement of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the province.
Less stringent policies and measures will be implemented under the provincial GCQ, with business establishments and activities gradually reopening beginning on Saturday.
What’s allowed?
Mall enterprises will re-open with limited stores to operate, minimized air-conditioning, and prohibited Free Wi-Fi services. Take out and drive-thru services will also be allowed for restaurants when the GCQ takes effect.
Construction and manufacturing industries will be permitted to resume operations but are required to secure working permits for the employees.
What’s not allowed?
Curfew hours will still be effective from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., with the exception of quarantine pass holders and individuals with valid work permits. Wearing of face masks, physical distancing, and proper hygiene practices remain mandatory for all Caviteños.
In addition, the provincial liquor ban remains to be enforced under the relaxed community quarantine. However, city and town mayors will still discuss and review policies regarding the selling and drinking of alcoholic products in the province.
Moreover, Cavite Governor Remulla advised the public to stay updated with the guidelines of government agencies such as the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), Department of Transportation (DOTr), and Land Transportation Franchising Board (LTFRB) about the operation of public transportations.
Despite the improved situation in the province, Remulla reminded Caviteños to strictly observe the GCQ measures as the second wave of COVID-19 infection is likely to happen.
Meanwhile, the verdict on Cavite being placed under GCQ is still subjected for reviews and changes by May 14, according to the press briefing of Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque earlier this morning.
