With the continuous rise of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) cases in Cavite, Provincial Governor Jonvic Remulla promised to launch its own Testing Program next week to screen all Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) in the province.

“The weakness in the [current] system is that there is only 1 accredited testing area in the Greater Manila [Area] and Calabarzon Region. Rapid testing kits are only good for certain conditions,” Remulla said in his Facebook post.

When testing programs become available, Remulla warned the public to expect a significant surge in the figures of positive cases in the province as tests will encompass a wider scope.

Moreover, disinfection programs continue to be implemented in the province through the progressive effort of the Provincial Fire Department.

Cash Assistance

As for the promised cash assistance for Filipino families affected by the pandemic, Remulla said that guidelines from the national government haven’t been released yet.

Pinaglalaban ko na po lahat..It is important that even the middle class, ‘yung mga nakatira sa subdivisions, may sariling trabaho, kayang mapag-aral ng anak, at nagbabayad ng buwis ay matulungan,” Remulla stated.

Under the Republic Act 11469, also known as the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act signed on March 24, low-income households are expected to receive a P5,000-P8,000 emergency subsidy as financial aid during the pandemic.

As of April 1, Cavite reported 4 new positive cases for COVID-19. Two of them came from the City of Dasmariñas, while other carriers of the virus came from Bacoor City.
