Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla orders community quarantine in the province, in response to Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Under the Executive Order, the province-wide community quarantine will take effect on March 17, 12:01 AM until April 14.

Curfew will also be implemented from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM in the said dates for “non-essential personnel on the streets”. Remulla clarified that health care workers, peace and order officers, night shift workers, and local government unit officers will be exempted from the curfew hours.

Public places such as playgrounds, malls basketball courts, gaming parlors, computer gaming shops, wellness centers, and cockpit arenas will be closed in the given period. Grocery stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, pawn shops, hardware stores, wet markets, and financial related services will remain open. However, tianges, open dry good markets, and side-walk vendors are prohibited from operating in the said dates.

In an early announcement, classes in all levels are suspended until April 14. As for undergraduate students who are taking On the Job Training (OJT), Remulla said that they will no be longer required to report to their site or office during the duration of the executive order.

“This executive order is dependent and will be adjusted to the National guidelines issued by the Office of The President and its alter-egos,” Remulla said.
