DASMARIÑAS CITY- The Communication and Journalism Department or CJD of De La Salle University- Dasmariñas’ official journalism arms: 95.9 Green FM and Digisalle is set to join forces in livening up to its role as the community’s official news and public affairs arm through its new program: COMMUNICODE: Reporting for a Greener Tomorrow.

95.9 Green FM is the official community radio of De La Salle University- Dasmariñas which has been in service for our Lasallian Patriots since 2005. The station produces various programs from news to entertainment, and editorials and articles on its official WordPress page. Green FM aims to continue in serving its oath to be at the forefront of truth in the airwaves of DLSUD. On the other hand, Digisalle is the official digital publication platform for our freshmen in the Digital Multimedia and Journalism program. Digisalle has been the pioneer in terms of interactive media design in news and journalism in the university. Both organizations have already collaborated in the past through co-production of KILATIS 2024 which has been La Salle’s talk of the town for the past few weeks as a defying interview and debate series for student leaders.

With that, Green FM and Digisalle would like to pursue and explore more of its potential through another partnership named COMMUNICODE. The said program was produced by the said organizations in line with the theme of World Press Freedom Day 2024: Journalism in the Face of Environmental Crisis that seeks to honor and celebrate the importance of journalism and freedom of expression while raising awareness in the context of the current global environmental crisis. The Communicode mini-series has been divided into three chapters/ seasons namely Plastic Waste, Food Waste, and Polluted Bodies of Water. Each episode will incorportate investigative journalism and the interactive platforms of Green FM from 95.9 MHz, Facebook Live, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.

COMMUNICODE will bring a valuable impact through education and awareness of environmental issues, instigate community response and engagement, collaborate and network from internal and external stakeholders, create an environment that will respond to heed of help, and create an environmental movement within the university. Knowing such crucial information can translate to action that  can change the world slowly but surely for its betterment in the future.During its test pilot episode member of both Green FM and Digisalle, Gwyneth Aristo tells that COMMUNICODE can be a platform to properly introduce the DMJ students in a slowly but surely manner through environmental journalism.

COMMUNICODE will air in the next semester alongside special guests, in-depth topics, and anything about the Environment.
