DASMARIÑAS, Cavite – 95.9 Green FM, the official radio community of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), is finally returning to its much-awaited airwaves after three years of online broadcasting. The student-led community radio will initially release its shows and programs starting November 6, 2023 (Monday) from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and will air on the 95.9 channel and Facebook live every Monday to Friday.
Rebooting for hybrid broadcasting—both online and radio airing, the 95.9 Green FM has rolled out various shows and programs concerning the pressing issues and exciting entertainment for listeners to be well-informed on today’s time.
“We’ve learned to maximize the best of both worlds: the [onsite] radio station and social media. Through the pandemic, we’ve come to realize the growing and dynamic power of social media when it comes to engagements as well as publicity, so we’re definitely combining all these elements to produce shows that are meant to be enjoyed by everyone,” said the 95.9 Green FM Senior Director for Programming and Internal Affairs Lei Diga.
To make the programs even more inclusive, 95.9 Green FM reopened its doors of opportunities to organizations and offices within the DLSU-D community. By expanding its blocktiming program, it provides them with a platform to promote their advocacies, initiatives, and announcements pertaining to their respective plans. Now, 95.9 Green FM has partnered with 10 blocktimers, amassing 19 shows overall for you to tune in!
“Expanding the content of our shows is our objective here. Reintroducing our whole-day radio programming serves as an opportunity to further our mission by actively participating in various social discussions, amplifying issues that need to be talked about, and boosting the entertainment and joy we bring to Filipinos,” 95.9 Green FM Senior Director for Programming and External Affairs Sofia Baldonado emphasized.
The vital messages curated by 95.9 Green FM and its partner organizations aim to raise awareness and strengthen information-sharing for further dissemination in line for the students. This is an opportunity to have open discussion for the development of the University and society—especially for the marginalized.
