Former “Goin’ Bulilit” star Nash Aguas joined Cavite’s Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) as he runs for a local government position.

The 22-year-old actor is set to run as councilor in Cavite City.

Oath-taking photos of the young celebrity circulated online, prompting netizens to share their thoughts on his entry to politics.

Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Marven Gorgonio reminded Aguas to stay true to his principles.

“Running for City Councilor at 22 years old? Why not? I hope you stand on your principles and ideals”, Gorgonio said.

Other netizens congratulated the young actor.

On the other hand, some expressed doubts and disappointment on the actor’s decision to embark on politics.

One blog site slammed his decision to join the same party with an “acquitted plunderer”, referring to the father of Aguas’ fellow Lakas-CMD member, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla.

A number of netizens questioned the young actor’s credentials and commented on celebrities’ gall to run for government positions as a “retirement plan”.

Cavite-born Aguas is well-known as being part of the children’s comedy show “Goin’ Bulilit”, and is currently part of ABS-CBN’s “Huwag Kang Mangamba”.
