As part of its continuous effort to combat the rise of COVID-19 cases in Cavite, Provincial Governor Jonvic Remulla laid out his modified orders for the “Calibrated” Quarantine Operations, which will take effect starting on May 1, 12:01 AM until May 15.

Under the calibrated quarantine in the province, 24 hours curfew will be strictly monitored for all citizens except from frontliners, food handlers, employees of financial services, volunteers for relief operations, and other essential workers. This also includes quarantine pass holders with curfew shortened to 6 pm instead of 8 pm.

Enhanced “Anti-Tambay Operations” is expected to be monitored stringently through the joint forces of Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), with a maximum of four people at a time in checkpoints.

Quarantine pass holders should highly observe physical distancing and are only allowed to use their passes within their area, which cannot be used in other nearby cities and/or towns.

Bystanders outside the house perimeters without a quarantine pass is strictly prohibited, as well as loitering, jogging, walking, and Zumba sessions conducted outside house premises. Violators are subjected to be given verbal warnings and automatic arrest in worst cases.

Senior Citizens are highly encouraged to stay at home and must take extra caution if they happen to be the quarantine pass holders in the family.

Moreover, the Calibrated Quarantine Operations also implements a mandatory wearing of face masks for all Caviteños. Citizens who will not comply with the said guideline are subjected to face charges.

Meanwhile, Remulla added that the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) remains under the control of the National Government. All employees are still required to bring identification cards (IDs) at all times especially when going to and from work.

Since March 17, Cavite is placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine to control the number of positive cases in the province. It was supposed to be lifted on April 14 but was later extended until May 15 due to the national government’s order of stretching ECQ in high-risk areas, which include National Capital Region (NCR), CALABARZON, Region 3, and some provinces in Visayas and Mindanao.

As of April 27, the province has recorded 161 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 23 deaths and 49 recoveries.
