Performers Rob Deniel and local rock band Hey Moonshine expressed their delight to be part of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy Student Government’s (CBAASG) beneficiary concert held on Monday, December 12, at the Ugnayang La Salle.

The concert was an installment of CBAASG’s four-part event titled, “LIWANAG: Paggunita ng Pasasalamat at Kahusayan.”

In an interview with Green FM, Deniel showed his joy to be part of the “LIWANAG 2022’s” initiative saying, “Syempre as an artist, isa ‘yon sa mga dream ko na makatulong sa ibang tao through music– kung ano [ang] gusto kong gawin.”

Moreover, Hey Moonshine also shared their excitement prior to their performance.

The band’s lead vocalist Gian Sison explained that they see their involvement in the event as an opportunity to help others stating, “Bukod sa talents namin, [i-she-share] din namin ‘yung what we have, so we can give back to the community and those who are in need,”

As announced by the CBAASG, the grantees of the event are the HANGO Project, Bahay Pag-Asa, One Lasalle Endowment Fund Scholars, and CBAA Scholars.

Since the CBAA scholarship grantees were reduced due to the pandemic, CBAASG Governor Franchesca Alon shared that they will allocate part of their proceeds targeting to increase the grantees.

Knowing the concert’s cause, Hey Moonshine bassist Carlo Ybanez mentioned that their band has also been engaging with many benefit concerts, including their initiated fundraisings.

“This is really what we do… kaya malaking bagay sa amin na na-invite niyo kami para makatulong naman [sa mga CBAA scholars], we really love doing this,” he explained.

The bassist also expressed his gratitude for the DLSU-D community adding, “Thank you for inviting us, and hopefully [na-enjoy] ninyo ‘yung set namin, and we’d love to come back to play for you, guys. [More] power to [all your] endeavors, sana makatulong pa kayo ng madami.”

All the performers, including other bands such as Silent Sanctuary, Nobita, and Lola Amour, equally shared their enthusiasm as they performed on stage through the DLSU-D’s first on-site beneficiary concert after almost three years.

The CBAASG will release a post detailing the outcome of its fundraising efforts. To know more, visit their official Facebook page
